Our Mission
The Leadership Academy was founded by members of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Chapter. These members decided to join forces to serve their sister organizations’ respective missions of advancing women in the legal profession. From this idea, a committee was established in 2023.
The Leadership Academy is dedicated to race and gender equality in the legal profession. We aim to serve the best and brightest aspiring leaders in South Florida, and we are dedicated to improving the lives around us. Our hope is to create a legacy of community service by working alongside our fellows each year.
We are committed to supporting women in their leadership journey by empowering them to embrace their strengths and overcome their challenges.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide relevant professional development and leadership training to a cohort of 10 to 15 women who are selected as Fellows.
