About Us.
The Leadership Academy was founded by members of the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Miami-Dade Chapter. These members decided to join forces to serve their sister organizations’ respective missions of advancing women in the legal profession. From this idea, a committee was established in 2023.
The Leadership Academy is dedicated to to serving the best and brightest aspiring leaders in South Florida. Our hope is to create a legacy of community service and leadership by working alongside our fellows each year.
Our Mission and Vision
Our mission is to provide relevant professional development and leadership training to a cohort of Fellows. Our vision is to make the legal profession a place where all women have an equal opportunity to succeed.
We are committed to supporting women in their leadership journey by empowering them to embrace their strengths and overcome their challenges.
